Free Impression: A workshop on freedom of expression

What exactly is Freedom of Expression? Do you consider yourself free? What is the relationship between artist and society? What is censorship and when should we use it? What does it mean to be offended?

Are you concerned with these questions?

This is a workshop for you.

Free Impression

15 select participants will engage in a week-long program that includes discussion with speakers from art, literature, law and activism backgrounds, while creating work based on issues and themes in the workshop. We’ll be talking about:

  • The role of free speech and expression in society
  • What limits there could be to free expression
  • Artistic license vs. responsibility
  • Freedom of expression in the context of democracy
  • Analysis of various case studies.

Last date for application submission is 27 September 2013.
