Art Appreciation Workshop

In the light of increasing number of art exhibitions and thus news and feature articles being written on them, Lasanaa, an alternative art space, will be hosting an Art Appreciation Workshop for writers on Sunday, December 12, 2010.

We would like to request you to send two writers from your esteemed newspaper to participate in this half-day workshop by Kathryn Hagy, Fulbright Scholar and Associate Professor of Art and Department Chair of Mount Mercy University.

About the workshop

Art is not limited to galleries, museums, or art history/theory books. It is found in every culture and time, and the potential for creative visual thinking and action exists in us all.

The workshop briefly explores the scope of visual arts to broaden the concept of what art is or might be through art making and image presentations.

Workshop attendees will gain awareness of the extent to which visual arts affect human life and develop an appreciation for art’s value regardless of the cultures, time period or individuals from which it may have come.

Time: 9m – 2 pm
