The art theory was initiated to promote a deeper understanding of art by applying it in a theoretical context. By the assimilation of art theory the analysis of an artwork can be interpreted to its veracity. This monthly interaction is mainly aimed at upcoming/artists, art students, art teachers and writers to encourage and apply the theoretical aspect to their works and hence give art its due academic credit. By doing so the Nepali audience is exposed to the wide spectrum of art styles and mediums, breaking away from traditional fine art forms which are mostly applied on a superficial level. On the other hand, artists are initiated to go beyond the canvas and explore new mediums as well as ideas and look beyond it’s aesthetic value.
Every second Friday of the English month the participants partake in a studio visit of a selected artist.
As an initiation of this convention a workshop was held from the 15th- 17th of December’10.
